And why is European industry gradually losing its competitiveness?

Artur Gevorkyan spoke to EXPORT.SK, he shared his experiences from more than 30 years in business. He discussed the difficult early days, the importance of in-house development, and the challenges facing European industry today.

From a small workshop to global markets

The company’s early days were not easy. Without a solid financial foundation or an established presence in international markets, it had to seek out opportunities where it could offer technological solutions without direct competition. As Artur Gevorkyan recalls: “It wasn’t some brilliant plan, just a desire to survive.”

Over the course of more than 30 years, however, the small workshop has grown into an international technology company whose products are now used around the world.

In-house development as the foundation for long-term growth

In-house research and development plays a significant role in the company’s growth. “Development is the very foundation of a company’s growth, and nothing is more important,” he emphasizes. It is precisely the ability to deliver customized technological solutions that enables the company to respond to customer needs and build long-term partnerships with them.

Today, GEVORKYAN develops more than 200 new products annually and acts not only as a supplier but also as a development partner on many projects.

New Opportunities and the Future of European Industry

Other topics include the acquisition of a manufacturing plant in Italy, the expansion of activities in the aerospace and defense industries, and the more efficient use of existing production capacities.

He also focuses on the challenging conditions facing European industry today. He considers high energy prices to be one of the biggest obstacles to its competitiveness. “The biggest problem for European industry, when we’re really talking about industry and not just some kind of assembly line work is the price of energy,” he points out. It is precisely these high production costs that are putting pressure on European companies and affecting their ability to compete with firms from the U.S. and Asia.

What lies behind more than 30 years of building the GEVORKYAN company, and what does the future hold for European industry?

Read the full interview on EXPORT.SK:

Artur Gevorkyan: It wasn’t a brilliant plan, but the will to survive

How did a small workshop with no money and no infrastructure become a company that now supplies its products to more than 30 countries around the world?
